About My Art

Rina Bhabra Australian artist painting in her studio
As a young woman, I grew up in East Africa and developed my love for nature through the road trips that I took with my dad, an engineer building roads in remote jungles of Africa. I saw firsthand the beautiful wild animals of Africa and became fascinated by the wonderful and untamed Africa. However, it was with these attributes that I cultivated my love of colour, movement and vibrancy -- my style as a painter began as an exercise to free myself from the technical restraints of artistic rules and art became a way of freeing myself from the world and become that unique voice as an artist. I use any medium to express myself and nothing is off limits.

My personal health challenges of breast cancer and meningitis has made me appreciate every day of my life and desire to live and leave a mark of happiness in this journey.

"I am an artist inspired by nature, dance, vibrant colour and movement.
All my paintings have undertones of momentum and energy, never still,
but intrigue a sense of feeling and emotion"
